Nintendo

The NES System-8 bit

Although sold in many different set ups the most common was with two controllers a zapper and Mario/Duck Hunt. Introduced to the United states in 1985 the NES was an instant hit becoming the best selling Gaming system of it's time.

The Super Nintendo System 16 bit

Introduced in 1990 to the United states it was an instant hit. Although not quite as popular as it's predecessor it was still the most popular 16 bit system during it's time. Today this system is still very popular with retro gamers as it offered so many titles that it would take a lifetime to beat them all.

The Nintendo 64-64 Bit

The N64 was introduced in 1996 to the US. Although it had a lot of hype and sold 33 million units it failed miserably to keep the attention of the common gamer. As Playstation and Ultimately Dreamcast offered better titles and better sound and graphics from a CD format. Recently however the N64 has grown back into popularity because so much fun was missed while we ignored this consol.

The Nintendo Gamecube

Introduced in May 2002 to North America.

Although Gamecube was highly anticipated the game fell flat from the get go. It didn't offer DVD Playback or Audio playback from CD's a major distinction from competitors Playstation and Xbox.

Still Offering classic titles like Mario and Zelda games proved to be it's savior. Also Resident Evil 4 was great on this system. Kids games sold like mad for the system such as Mario party and Simpson's seemed to keep the kids coming back. Although finishing Third again disappointed Nintendo.

The Nintendo Wii

A Great Advance in Motion Technology.

Nintendo hit a home run here no doubt. With its physical interaction and funner game play. Wii Has outsold Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 As of May 2009.

Having played video games all my life I knew that this was going to be a great idea once I first heard of it in 2005. The ideal is to put a person in 3d control inside the game. This offers all new game play abilities. Another Hit for the Wii was the Wii Fit. Everyone went nuts with I can play a video game and get in shape? Hopefully Nintendo doesn't stop here. I encourage them to make a suit made of spandex of course and do a full body sensor suit. Now were having fun!
