Introduced in September 1995 to North America Sony Playstation was a huge hit. Over 11 Years the Sony Sold 102 Million consoles becoming the best selling game system ever until PS2. With almost 8000 titles released for this system it far outweighs any other system in history. You see above three different versions of this playstation. The first image is a standard PS1 that most of you have. The second is the PSone A lighter version that was released late and was devised for mobile game play. The third picture is of a PS1 with RCA outs. This was the original release and these are very hard to come by now. This unit had a lot better sound than the later models and therefore are highly sought after.

The playstation was the top dog in the fifth generation of game systems. It beat out N64 and Sega Dreamcast in sales and fan support. With popular titles such as the Final Fantasy series and a lot of shooter games ( Metal Gear Solid, Resident Evil, Syphon Filter) it vaulted to the top very quickly. Sony continued to sell the PSone model all the way up to 2006.
